When Volker Schlöndorff came to Beirut in 1980 to shoot his film Circle of Deceit, he needed armed men to figure in the film. He asked both warring factions on the ground to stop fighting the time for him to shoot his film.

This is a casting of fighters hired by Schlöndorff to play their real role in his film.
